Protein structure primary secondary tertiary and Quaternary structure o...

Protein structure - This lecture explains about the protein structure hierarchy including primary, secondary, tertiary structures of protein. All the types of protein structures are explained in this video with example. So watch this video to understand alpha helix and beta sheet structure and the role of primary structure of the protein to make 3d protein which dictates the function of the protein.

So keep watching this video for knowing the following details
1. Primary structure of protein
2. Secondary structure of protein
3. Tertiary structure of the protein
Hi
friends!
Today we
will learn about the structure of proteins.
There are
four types of proteins (1) Protein primary structure (2)
Protein secondary structure (3)
Protein tertiary structure
(4) Protein quaternary structure
Let’s get
started
Primary structure of protein: primary structure of proteins is
liner in order. They are 1 dimensional structure. They have a sequence of amino
acid. Example are polypeptide chain
For
example, the primary proteins which starting from the amino-terminal (N) end to
the carboxyl-terminal (C)
The
primary structure is held together by peptide bonds that are made during the
process of protein biosynthesis
A perfect
liner amino acid chain is neither functional nor energetically favorable.
secondary structure of proteins: they are nonlinear. 3 dimensional structure.
They are localized to region of an amino acid chain they are not present
everywhere.
Myoglobin
is the best example of secondary structure of protein.
Secondary structure is divide into two form
one is beta sheet structure and second is alpha helical structure
Beta sheet
are fibrous plated sheet like structure and alpha helical structure spring
structure and they are mostly present in nature.
Protein tertiary structure: they are nonlinear and they are
also 3 dimensional structure. They are globally present in nature. They are
including
hydrophobic
interactions, ionic bonds, hydrogen bonds, and disulfide bridge formation
this is
the table of proteins structure and there are no high difference between the
shape of tertiary and quaternary structure of proteins.
Today we
will learn about the shape of proteins primary protein is the sequences of a
chain of amino acid and secondary protein structure is the sequence of amino
acid are linked by hydrogen bonds tertiary structure of protein occurs when
certain attractions are present between alpha helical and beta pleated sheets
and quaternary structure of proteins consisting of more than one amino acid
chain.
